For the past 12 years of his 20 year career, Michael T. Schulenberg has practiced in the area of Matrimonial and Family law. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Oakland University in 1996 and graduated from the Wayne State University School of Law in Detroit Michigan receiving his Juris Doctor degree in 2000 Cum Laude.
Mr. Schulenberg was admitted to the United States Eastern District Courts of Michigan in 2000. Mr. Schulenberg is licensed to practice law in Illinois and state of Michigan and has been a member of the Michigan Bar Association since 2000 and is also a member of the DeKalb, Kendall and Illinois State Bar Association.
Mr. Schulenberg has represented over 150 clients in matrimonial and family law matters and has tried cases to conclusion involving almost every issue that arises between parties in family law cases. Mr. Schulenberg has, on behalf of clients, obtained awards of lawyers' fees and child custody. Prior to trying any case, serious efforts are always made to negotiate a settlement. However, when a case cannot be settled, Mr. Schulenberg's trial advocacy and experience is available to obtain fair and equitable results for his clients.
Mr. Schulenberg has also served as a member of his church staff parish committee. Prior to concentration in matrimonial and family law matters, Mr. Schulenberg worked as an Assistant State's Attorney in DeKalb County Illinois and at a law firm concentrating his practice in mergers, acquisitions and business transactions for small and multinational corporations.
Mr. Schulenberg is frequently consulted by other members of the bar. His knowledge and experience leads to the frequent referral of clients by former clients and other attorneys. His current clients include medical providers, police officers, teachers, business owners, homemakers and people as young as 21 and as old as 91.
